Beginning with a Discovery Phase, I conducted interviews with Mouse + Magpie’s senior level executive, marketing, and IT teams. This provided great insights into how the company wanted to present itself, their reason for being, and the things that inspired them most.
After these initial meetings, I scheduled a series of in-person and web-based interviews with potential customers. The goal was to gain a better idea of what they were looking for when shopping for children's home furnishings and decor.
Our team then got to work creating the visual identity for the company. Helping create a custom logo, unique typography, and voice & tone, we presented this information into a complete Brand Guideline.
The e-commerce website was the first place the new identity was used. Working from the information gathered in our Discovery Phase, I created customer profiles and used these when putting together the website’s sitemap.
I then lead our team in the design of the page templates, assisted with the front end development, and oversaw the technical integration with the Shopify CMS.
During this time we also worked with the company to design marketing collateral, product packaging, and custom email templates. To assist with the marketing side of things, I also worked closely with Mouse + Magpie’s internal marketing team to provide a strategy for establishing Mouse + Magpie’s digital presence.
