Lowe's MyLifeTrack Mobile Application

Lowe's MyLifeTrack Application

When Lowe’s, the second-largest hardware chain in the United States, decided to put together a health and fitness program for their 265,000 employees, they came to Summit Marketing. MaybeForYou was then brought in to consult on the strategy, user experience, and development of a custom mobile application.

Working for such a large employee base, the system needed to scale effectively and support a wide variety of devices. Lowe’s wanted a system that could track health information through personal food journals, weight and fitness logs, and provide educational information in the form of articles and interactive quizzes.

The solution also needed to incorporate an employee reward system, to promote participation and keep people engaged.

After working with the team at Summit to define the overall strategy, I began prototyping the UI (user interface) of the mobile application.

Taking care to ensure the application was intuitive and easy to use for employees from diverse backgrounds, I conducted a series of usability tests to gather feedback and allow us to streamline the experience.

Since the rewards system was being developed by Summit Marketing, our development team worked with their developers to build out custom APIs to ensure both systems would seamlessly integrate together.

Once the final version was developed, tested, and approved by the leadership team at Lowe’s, we helped with a nationwide roll out of all 12,500 locations.

The result is MyLifeTrack, an application that was not only enthusiastically adopted by Lowe’s employees nationwide but has also been highly praised for its ability to improve health and fitness within the workforce.

The program has received numerous employee engagement and health and fitness awards, including the Gold Winner for the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles Award; the Excellence in the Workplace from the Tobacco Control Award; the Start! Fit-Friendly Companies Innovation Award; and the CDHC Superstar Integrated Care: Wellness & Disease Management Award.
